Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-03-13 Summary: not bad ... tired of dragging the cord around? i would recomend this tool for everything except full 2" rough cut lumber. has good power on dry finished lumber but struggles with a full 2" deep cut.it's light weight and pretty tough. i dropped a wet 2"x12"x6' board on it last night and expected that to be the end, but not a scatch. the blade adjustment is on the right side of the tool making the adjustment a bit different if you're used to a worm drive skill. but for a quick job or cut it beats dragging out a cord. battery life ...more

I picked this up after doing a brake job on my car and having to take the wheels off two times (amateur job you would say). I already own the V28 hammer drill, SawzAll, circular saw, and flashlight. All of these are very impressive tools as well. This is no lightweight, sort-of-works wrench. I used it to take my wheels off again to work on my front brakes, and it will take off and put on a lug nut in a matter of seconds. I have a pneumatic one so I didn't really need this but when I stumbled across it on Amazon for 100 bucks cheaper then I've ever seen: $131+freeship, my tool buying reflex took over. It is big and really heavy compared to my pneumatic one but the convenience of complete portability is worth a lot. I quickly put it to work rotating the tires on my one-ton and though it took a couple seconds to break some lugs free, the work went quickly; no charging the compressor, uncoiling the hose or finding the pneumatic tool oil. ...more

I have never been a fan of cordless drills because of long charging times and short battery life but my corded Mikita drill is starting become worn out so I wanted to try cordless again. This Milwaukee charges the battery in 30 minutes and the drill has tons of power. The chuck took a little getting used to. The other drills I've used have two rings on the key-less chuck. This just has one you twist until it clicks. Over all I think this is a great drill. Compact and feels like it is built solidly. ...more

We use a lot of drills and periodically switch to new models when we believe (and validate through our testing) that a new model may provide better performance on the job site. We used to go through a lot of NiCad battery packs during the year and would regularly send off the Milwaukee's in particular off to get rebuilt by a company that specializes in battery rebuilds.
