I just ordered the standard HPB14 battery pack, which is black. Then I used a T10 Torx screwdriver (avail. at Sears, Ace, Home Depot, etc.) to remove the 4 screws under the case. Removing the 4 screws, the battery pack slips right out. Swap batteries and screw case together and you are done. No wiring, soldering, etc. Just lift and place. And of course almost all my repairs are on the main and top floors. No big deal 20 years ago but lately the knees are starting to complain. The only drawback on this drill is that it does not have a replaceable battery, but with Lithum ion battery I don't expect it to fail anytime soon like NiCad. With a two year warranty, I think that is fine. It has two speed settings which is easy to set. Also a push thru button if you want the drill to go reverse direction.
